Recycling. WEEE Directive
Unwanted electrical equipment is the UKs fastest
growing type of waste.
Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and
the environment. If you do not recycle electrical equipment will end up in
landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water
contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.
We are proud to support your local authority in providing local recycling
facilities for electrical equipment.
To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is now marked
with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical
equipment (including those marked with this symbol) in your bin.
WEE Collection & Take Back
Great Digital Deals offers a old for new take back program whereby we will collect free of charge any item of similar purpose or function to the item being delivered will be collected and returned to us for careful disposal in a WEEE compliant refuse centre.
Simply inform us at time of ordering that a collection is required so we can contact you to make the necessary arrangements.
This service covers electrical items displaying the crossed out wheelie bin symbol (see below) which are non recyclable by standard disposal techniques and can produce long term environmental damage if allowed to find their way into landfills.

What is WEEE?
The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries
to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these
items.
Waste Battery Regulations
Under the Waste Battery Regulations, Great Digital Deals are now offering a take
back scheme for all portable waste batteries. You can return your waste
batteries to our business premises in person (PLEASE DO NOT POST).
Alternatively, you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility
at www.recyclenow.com
Most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for
used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may also set up
collection points. End-users may find stores in their local area more
accessible.
